ATOMISERS AND NOZZLES FOR LUBRICATING BOTTLES AND CONVEYOR BELTS

THE INDUSTRY:
Conveyor belts are vital for the continuous movement of bottles through various stages of production. These belts must handle complex transitions, such as filling, labeling, and packaging, which necessitate adequate lubrication. Utilizing specific lubrication tools not only ensures the smooth movement of bottles but also reduces machinery wear and minimizes the risk of bottle breakage, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient production process.

THE PROBLEM :
Our client, a machinery manufacturer for casking and bottling, needed solutions for two issues encountered during the transport phase of glass bottles on conveyor belts:
BOTTLE LUBRICATION :
To prevent glass bottles from breaking due to collisions, they are sprayed with a silicone solution that improves their sliding against each other. This solution is later washed off.
CONVEYOR BELT LUBRICATION:
During transport, bottles often need to move from one belt to another. Lubricating the belts with a surfactant ensures smooth transitions.

THE SOLUTION :
Our technicians developed two tailored solutions for the client’s needs:

BOTTLE LUBRICATION:
For this application, a side manifold equipped with MX atomizers was designed.
These atomizers, with a fan spray, can effectively reach the bottles in the center of the belt.

MX AIR ATOMIZERS
CONVEYOR BELT LUBRICATION:
The conveyor belts requiring lubrication are fitted with a horizontal manifold
featuring GX flat spray nozzles that dispense the surfactant at a pressure of 2 bar.

HOW TO SAVE 2620 LITERS OF WATER ANNUALLY IN PAINT PRODUCTION
An eco-friendly paint manufacturer has implemented a new pipeline cleaning method, resulting in substantial water, energy, and cost savings.

THE INDUSTRY:
In industrial paint production, the transportation of paint via pipelines is vital. After mixing, paint is pumped through pipelines to storage tanks or bottling lines. These pipelines are designed for steady and regulated flow to minimize blockages or contamination. Temperature and pressure are meticulously monitored to maintain paint stability and prevent air bubbles or foam. This stage requires careful planning and maintenance to ensure efficient and safe transportation, meeting high-quality standards.

THE PROBLEM:
Our client, an ecological paint manufacturer, needed a system for cleaning the internal transport pipelines in their facility. Previously, cleaning was done manually, requiring extended plant shutdowns and disassembly of pipeline sections. Operators had to clean the pipes with manual lances, risking injury from high-pressure hot water jets.

THE SOLUTION:
The R&D department developed a customized solution: the UBR high-pressure orbital tank cleaning nozzle. This nozzle is installed within the pipeline and fixed in place using clamps, with water then discharged into a tank.

THE ADVANTAGES:
The UBR series tank cleaning nozzles are designed for cleaning small containers with a powerful high-pressure straight jet. They are powered by an external electric or pneumatic motor, allowing only the tube with the rotating head to be inserted into the container for washing.
1.- WATER AND ENERGY SAVINGS The UBR nozzle provides thorough pipeline cleaning while using less water and energy compared to manual lance washing. Previously, weekly 10-minute washes at 100 bar consumed 9200 liters of water annually.
2.- ECONOMIC SAVINGS Our system ensures precise cleaning and reduces water usage, thereby lowering costs for disposing of paint-contaminated water. Plant shutdowns decrease from weekly to once every ten days with the high-pressure method.
3.- OPERATOR SAFETY Manual washing posed risks to operators due to exposure to hot water (80°C). Our system shields operators from contact with hot water, containing the cleaning liquid and preventing floor dispersion, thus enhancing safety.

THE RESULTS:
With our solution, cleaning interventions reduce to 40 times a year, with a 10-minute wash at 80 bar, using 6580 liters of water annually. This saves 2620 liters of water each year.
