Köppern is designing and manufacturing 3 main process technologies, summarized as follows;
Briquetting     : cold and hot cold and hot briquetting especially for metallurgical industry
Compaction   : production of fertilizers
Comminution : high pressure grinding rolls compact units for mainly cement industry as well as ores and mineral industries.
Comminution under High Pressure is the energetically one of the most common methods to grind most the brittle materials. In many cases, it is the most economical and efficient solution to increase of grinding capacity in the cement industry, especially for raw meals. The capacity can increase up to 300% after it is integrated with a ball mill grinding circuit, and the savings in grinding energy up to 40% have been recorded in the industry after such installations.
The flexibility of HPGR (High-Pressure Grinding Rolls) permits a large variety of system configurations, such as pregrinding, semi-finish grinding together with ball mills, as well as the production of finished products with high finenesses. High-Pressure Grinding Rolls can be operated in closed circuit with static and/or dynamic separator.
 Köppern offers an industrially proven range of HPGR machine for comminution that almost covers all requirements of the end users. The design and performance data are based on the material to be ground and flowsheet of the system.
 The roller presses for HPGR are equipped with two types of rolls as;
 Solid body rolls
 Solid body rolls with sleeves
 The rolls can be different materials as;
 Welded hardfacings
 Cast metal linings
 Composite steel
 Hexadur® (Köppern’s proprietary wear protection)
