2009 MARCH : AKÇANSA ÇİMENTO DECIDES UPON CERAMIC COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR VRM TYRES AND TABLES

AKÇANSA is a very important cement group in Turkey and it covers 12% of total market needs. Akçansa is a joint company of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Cement.

Çanakkale plant has increased its capacity to produce 8000 TPD clinker after with large investments starting from 2007. Within the scope of the investments, MPS 5000 and MPS 2800 vertical roller mills have been commissioned.

Following installation and commissioning, one of the important parts in the mills - table segments and roller tyres - which are subject to continuous wear, have been preferred Magotetaux's Ceramic / High Chrome composite alloy material.

The main reason for this preference is that it provides a much longer life compared to the standard NiHard4 material, but it is also possible to avoid ground material tonnage reduction because of almost homogenous wear profile formation over the entire surface till the end of life.

The materials were scheduled for delivery to Akçansa Çanakkale in January 2010.
