2010 FEBRUARY: DENIZLI CEMENT PLANT GCT MODERNISATION PROJECT BY FTR

Denizli Cement, a leading cement supplier in the Aegean region in Turkey, has recently contracted with FTR for rewamping of present two gas conditioning systems in the two gas cooling towers.

The main problem with existing cooling towers was that the system was not capable of achieving the required outlet temperature values at the exit of the gas cooling tower and wet bottom formation was frequently seen under the tower. As a result of site visits and precise heat balance calculations FTR’s solution is technically and commercially approved and contracted. The solution used was HYBRID SYSTEM.

The project includes pump stations, lance groups, air stations, valve units, control logic and all other accessories. The project also includes heat balance calculations, design, manufacturing, installation, automation and supervision services.

The most important advantage of gas cooling systems with operating principle of HYBRID SYSTEM is as follows: if the reaction distance for a full evaporation of the liquid being sprayed is not sufficient, HYBRID SYSTEM may overcome this problem even though it sprays single fluid rather than double-fluid systems (generally water+compressed air). HYBRID SYSTEMS enables reaction shorter than conventional return-flow or spilback systems.

The HYBRID SYSTEM is a single fluid principle (only water) and the lances are the combination of return-flow & non-return-flow lances by a special design.

FTR manufactures and installs these systems under its own registered brand COOLING CONTROL.
