2017 FEBRUARY: 3RD UNIT INSTALLATION OF PRECIMECA TYRE SHREDDERS FOR VICAT TURKEY
PRECIMECA started its commercial life in 1992. After the first successful tyre shredding plant, supplied to VICAT KONYA CEMENT PLANT in 2010 in Turkey, the numbers tyre shredders increased to 3 units in Vicat Turkey Group in a short period of time.
Following the first tyre shredder Konya plant, the group 2nd plant BAŞTAŞ invested a similar but a bigger capacity shredder from Precimeca once again. It was confirmed that the pay-back period of these investments was quite short. The main factor of the short pay-back is the high calorific value and low cost of the automobile tyres compared to the high-cost fossil fuels.
At the end of 2016, VICAT TURKEY took a decision to use more alternative fuels and increase the substitution rate in Konya Cement Plant, so that the 3rd tyre shredder from Precimeca was contracted. The system will be in operation in the 2nd quarter of 2017.
The shredded tyres are quite preferred due to its high calorific value, and Precimeca shredders are able to cut tyres into pieces according to required dimensions without any problem.
The design and special alloy of the cutting blades keep the size of the final product under control at its maximum level by the help of special design internal separator. For this reason, the consistent cut material enables also unproblematic operation in the following conveying or dosing systems.
